the book is a about a guy who fought as an ss soldat. he was defending germany which at the time was nazi germany. but no this guy doesnt support any mass murdering of innocents or anything. if it did i wouldnt post it on this forum.its just hollywood and plain propaganda that most of the US thinks of the common German soldier as anything but a soldier. This is a great book for anyone with an interest in ww2 history Regardless of which side you may support.

Here in new york city we have a giant used book store called Strand book store located on east 12 street and broadway. They have the largest selection of ww2 books i have ever encounterd I usually go there every two weeks, to see what gems i could pick up. I recently picked up SS HELL ON THE EASTERN FRONT. This book gives a basic account of ss operations against the russians. Good pictures. I also picked up THE DEVILS ADJUTANT. This book is about Jochen Pieper. Should be a great read. I think the best picture books about the waffen ss are the Heimdel series. These are awsome picture books with waffen SS troops in action. I persannlly own, the Leibstandarte and he Totenkopf books. They are awsomE. In think the granddaddy of all waffen ss book, should be WENN ALL BRUDER SCHEEIGEN. (translates WHEN ALL OUR BROTHERS ARE SILENT. This book was published by a association of former Waffen ss soldiers. A must see or have book.
